Bank of Latvia Announces Tender to Mint Euro Coins for Latvia

The Bank of Latvia has announced a tender for mints to produce euro coins for Latvia, on which the central bank is planning to spend 9,6 million lats.

The winner of the tender is expected to supply one, two, five, ten, 20 and 50 eurocent coins, as well as one and two-euro coins.

In all, the winning mint will be expected to produce 400 million circulation quality coins: 20 million two-euro coins, 30 million one-euro coins, 25 million 50-eurocent coins, 35 million 20-eurocent coins, 40 million ten-eurocent coins, 50 million five-eurocent coins, 80 million two-eurocent coins and 120 million one-eurocent coins, as well as 30 000 coins of each nominal or 240 000 brilliant uncirculated quality coins and 5 000 coins of each nominal or 40 000 proof quality coins.
